QUILT YOUR PHOTOS
Let me show you how to turn your favourite photo into a textile masterpiece, free motion quilting and all! Class requirements below.
1 or 2 day workshop $140 per person per day . Morning and Afternoon tea provided. Please bring your lunch and a cup for tea/coffee.
Requirements:
1.Image of your choice either portrait or landscape or object. Posterise the image and enlarge to A3 size. (free online posterizer application available at imgonline.com.ua Enlargements can be done at home or Officeworks. Make a black and white copy as well as a colour copy.
2.Cotton fabrics that match your image, either commercial fabrics or fabrics you have dyed, rusted, painted.
3. Background fabric, (your image will be constructed on here), backing fabric and wadding cut to A3 size. Extra fabric for finishing edges with facings and hanging sleeve.
4. 2 metres Heat n Bond lite or similar paper backed fusible web.
5. Sewing machine in working order, various threads matching image fabrics, free motion foot, 1/4 In foot. Scissors, black marker pen, pencil, sewing pins, iron and ironing pad or two towels wrapped / folded together at least A3 in size suitable to iron on.
Fun with surface design
Have fun creating your own fabric with stamping, mono printing, stencilling, sun dyeing. and rusting.

Requirements:
Fabrics for adding your surface design, cotton is best. White or solid light colours, creams, “ugly” fabric from your stash, any cotton fabric you would like to experiment with. Fat eighth size or bigger. At least 1 metre of fabric. Any stamps or stencils you would like to use, or found objects. If you have a jelli plate please bring it. Apron and gloves are useful.
There will be stamps, mono printing plates, stencils, paints, brushes, available on the day.
